Compact business desktop for office workloads

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720s is a small-form-factor PC built around a 64-bit 6-core Intel Core i5-8500 running at 3.00 GHz with 9 MB L3 cache and a 65 W thermal design. It ships with 8 GB of DDR4 memory, a 512 GB NVMe PCIe SSD and Windows 11 Pro pre-installed, making it ready for general productivity, web-based apps and light multitasking right out of the box.

Fits tight spaces and connects dual displays

The slim chassis slides onto a shelf, behind a monitor or into a cramped desk cubby without needing a full-size tower footprint. A single USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C port, six USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports and two USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A ports handle peripherals, while two DisplayPort outputs and one VGA port drive up to two external screens without a discrete graphics card. Gigabit Ethernet provides wired networking; no wireless card is included.

Steady output for long work sessions

The 65 W processor and integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 are cooled by an internal air-cooling solution sized for the small chassis, so sustained document editing, spreadsheet calculation or video playback runs without thermal throttling. The NVMe SSD keeps boot and application load times consistent over hours of use. Buyers who need discrete 3D performance, additional internal drive bays or built-in Wi-Fi should look elsewhere.

The 65 W TDP and air-cooling design cap sustained clock speeds under continuous multi-core load.

How loud and hot does the M720s get when running all day?

The small-form-factor chassis uses a 65 W air cooler; expect audible fan ramp and warm exhaust during extended heavy use.

Which peripherals must I already own to use this desktop?
