Compact Business Desktop for Office Work

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720s is a small-form-factor desktop built around a six-core Intel Core i5-8500 processor running at 3.0 GHz with 9 MB cache. It comes with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 512 GB NVMe PCIe SSD for fast boot and application loading. Intel UHD 630 graphics drive up to two displays via dual DisplayPort outputs and a VGA port. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed.

Suits General Business Tasks Not Heavy Workloads

This system fits standard office productivity, web browsing and multi-monitor setups where a compact footprint is required. Buyers who need discrete graphics performance, larger memory capacity or additional internal storage bays should look at other configurations. The absence of a wireless card means a wired network or separate adapter is necessary.

Six-Core i5-8500 Processor Determines Fit

The 6-core, 6-thread CPU with a 65 W design power sets the performance ceiling for this unit. It handles typical business applications and light multitasking within its thermal envelope. Workloads that demand higher core counts, higher single-thread speeds or dedicated GPU acceleration will exceed what this processor can deliver.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the Intel UHD 630 graphics are active after first boot?

Open Device Manager and confirm Intel UHD 630 appears under Display adapters without a warning icon; then run the Windows 10 Pro display settings to ensure both DisplayPort outputs detect a connected monitor at native resolution.

What ships in the box and which essentials must I source separately?

The desktop and its power cord are included; you must provide a monitor, keyboard, mouse and, if wireless connectivity is required, a separate Wi-Fi adapter because no wireless card is installed.

Which configuration suits a typical office workload — the 512 GB NVMe or a larger drive?

The installed 512 GB NVMe PCIe SSD handles Windows 10 Pro, business applications and local files comfortably; only add secondary storage if you anticipate large media libraries or extensive local backups.
