Compact business desktop for office workloads

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720s SFF is a small-form-factor desktop built around an 8th Generation Intel Core i5-8500 processor with six cores running at 3.0 GHz up to 4.1 GHz. It ships with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 2.5-inch 1 TB SSD. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed along with a USB keyboard and mouse.

DDR4 memory tops out at 32 GB in two slots

The platform supports DDR4 UDIMM modules up to a total of 32 GB across two DIMM slots. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 drives display output without a discrete card. The chassis includes a DVD-ROM drive and a USB wireless dongle capable of 5 GHz operation. No monitor is included in the package.

Replaces older tower PCs that lack SSD speed

This unit upgrades from traditional hard-drive desktops by delivering solid-state boot and application loading in a smaller footprint. The jump is worth it for offices that need quiet, reliable systems for everyday productivity and web-based applications. Buyers who require discrete graphics performance or more than 32 GB of memory should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Which memory capacity should I pick for the DDR4 UDIMM?

The system ships with 8 GB DDR4 UDIMM and supports up to 32 GB, so choose 8 GB for everyday tasks or add more modules later for heavier workloads.

How does the 4.10 GHz turbo frequency behave under sustained load?

The Intel Core i5-8500 hexa-core processor can reach 4.10 GHz on active cores, but all-core speeds will settle lower within the 65 W power envelope during prolonged work.

What display outputs does the Intel UHD Graphics 630 provide?

The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 drives the video ports on the SFF chassis for multi-monitor setups without a discrete graphics card.
