Compact business desktop

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720s is a small-form-factor desktop built around an 8th-generation Intel Core i7-8700 processor with six cores and twelve threads. It ships with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a dual-drive configuration consisting of a 256 GB M.2 solid-state drive plus a 1 TB solid-state drive. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed and a USB keyboard and mouse are included.

Processor speed ceiling

The Core i7-8700 operates at a base frequency of 3.20 GHz and can reach 4.60 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology. Its 65 W thermal design power and 12 MB cache support responsive performance for typical office applications and multitasking workloads.

Integrated graphics thermal profile

Graphics are handled by the onboard Intel UHD Graphics 630 which shares system memory and requires no separate power connector. The 65 W processor envelope keeps heat output modest in the compact chassis so acoustic levels remain low during normal business use.

Questions about this item

How does the 4.6 GHz turbo speed affect everyday workloads?

The i7-8700 can reach 4.6 GHz on active cores, giving snappy response in office apps and light multitasking while staying within its 65 W power envelope.

What display outputs does the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 provide on this SFF chassis?

The integrated UHD 630 drives the motherboard video ports — typically DisplayPort and HDMI — supporting dual monitors at up to 4K resolution.

Will a full-height graphics card fit inside the small-form-factor case?

The M720s SFF accepts only low-profile expansion cards; a standard full-height GPU will not fit without a riser and a larger chassis.
