Business SFF desktop with i7-8700

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720s is a small-form-factor business desktop built around an 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8700 hexa-core processor running at 3.20 GHz with a 4.60 GHz turbo boost. It ships with Windows 10 Pro, 8 GB of DDR4 memory, a USB keyboard and mouse, and a 5Ghz-capable Wi-Fi/BT dongle for office deployment.

Dual-drive storage: 512 GB M.2 SSD plus 1 TB HDD

The operating system loads from a 512 GB M.2 solid-state drive while a 1 TB hard drive provides bulk capacity for archives and media. The board supports up to 32 GB of DDR4 so memory headroom remains for heavier multitasking, though the installed 8 GB will limit simultaneous virtual machines or large datasets.

65 W CPU with integrated UHD 630 graphics

The 65 W processor relies on the compact SFF chassis and Intel UHD Graphics 630 for display output without a discrete card. Under typical office loads the system stays quiet and power draw remains modest, while the included DVD-ROM handles legacy media. Intensive 3D or compute workloads are not suited to this configuration.

Questions about this item

Will the 8 GB DDR4 UDIMM memory modules work with my existing DDR4 DIMM 240-pin sticks?

Yes, the installed 8 GB DDR4 UDIMM uses the standard DIMM 240-pin form factor, so it will operate alongside any other DDR4 DIMM 240-pin modules you keep, up to the board's 32 GB limit.

How can I confirm the Intel Core i7-8700 is reaching its 4.60 GHz turbo frequency under load?

Open Task Manager's Performance tab or a hardware monitor and run a multi-threaded workload; the CPU clock should show speeds up to 4.60 GHz when thermal headroom allows.

Does the box contain the USB Wi-Fi/Bluetooth dongle and the wired USB keyboard and mouse, or must I buy them separately?

The USB Wi-Fi/Bluetooth dongle, USB keyboard and USB mouse are all included in the box; no separate purchase is required for those peripherals.
