Compact business desktop

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720s is a small-form-factor desktop powered by an 8th Generation Intel Core i5-8500 hexa-core processor running up to 4.10 GHz. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a dual-drive layout: a 128 GB M.2 SSD paired with a 1 TB hard drive. Windows 10 Pro comes pre-installed, along with a USB keyboard and mouse.

SFF build integration

The SFF chassis occupies minimal desk space while providing room for the included DVD-ROM drive and a USB wireless dongle capable of 5 GHz operation. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 handles display output without requiring a discrete graphics card, freeing the single low-profile expansion slot for other add-in cards. DDR4 UDIMM slots support memory expansion up to 32 GB.

Office-focused users

This configuration suits office workers and small-business deployments that need reliable productivity performance, dual-storage flexibility and wired peripherals in a compact footprint. Buyers who require a dedicated graphics card for 3D workloads, more than two internal drives or a chassis that accepts full-height expansion cards should consider a larger form factor.

Questions about this item

How far can the 65 W i5-8500 boost to 4.1 GHz before the small-form-factor cooler hits its thermal limit?

The processor is rated at 65 W and can reach 4.1 GHz; the SFF chassis relies on its integrated heatsink and system fan to manage that heat under sustained loads.

What noise and temperature levels should I expect from the M720s when it runs all day in a quiet office?

The 65 W CPU and single system fan keep acoustic output low during typical business tasks; the case exhaust stays warm but not excessive during extended operation.

Does the included USB Wi-Fi dongle provide Bluetooth, or do I need a separate adapter for wireless peripherals?

The supplied USB dongle supports both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, so no extra adapter is required for wireless keyboards, mice or headsets.
