Compact business desktop for office teams

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720s SFF is a small-form-factor PC built around an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8500 hexa-core processor reaching 4.10 GHz. It ships with 8 GB DDR4 memory, a 256 GB M.2 SSD for the OS and a 1 TB hard drive for bulk storage. Windows 11 Pro, a USB keyboard and mouse are included, making it ready for immediate deployment in general office, education or front-desk roles. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 drives standard business displays.

Check power, display and expansion needs

The 65 W processor and SFF chassis use a proprietary internal power supply; verify the unit’s rated output matches any planned add-in cards. Only low-profile PCIe cards fit the expansion slots, and the case accepts DIMM 240-pin DDR4 modules up to the platform limit of 32 GB. Video output ports on the rear panel determine which monitors can connect without adapters. The supplied USB Wi-Fi dongle provides 5 GHz capability, so ensure your wireless infrastructure supports that band.

Replaces older SFF towers when dual-drive speed

Moving from a single-drive hard-drive system to this M.2 SSD plus 1 TB HDD combination cuts boot and application load times dramatically. The six-core i5-8500 delivers a clear step up from dual-core or quad-core 6th and 7th Gen CPUs in multitasking workloads. If your workload demands discrete graphics, more than two low-profile slots, or memory beyond 32 GB, a larger tower or workstation class machine is the appropriate platform.
