14-inch FHD ultrabook for mobile professionals

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480 or T490 delivers a 14.0-inch 1920 x 1080 IPS non-touch display powered by an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8250U quad-core processor. Eight gigabytes of DDR4 memory and a 512 GB SSD provide responsive multitasking and fast boot times. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed for immediate deployment in managed environments.

Upgrade from dual-core or HDD systems

Moving from a dual-core laptop or a mechanical hard drive yields noticeable gains in compile times, spreadsheet recalculation and general responsiveness. The jump is worth it when daily workloads involve multiple browser tabs, virtual machines or large document sets that exceed four gigabytes of active memory.

Integrated graphics and soldered memory limit

Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles office applications and video playback but cannot accelerate modern 3D rendering or compute tasks. Memory is not user-expandable beyond the factory configuration, so buyers who need more than eight gigabytes must select a different unit at purchase.
