Ready-to-use business ultrabook

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480s is a 14-inch Windows 11 Pro laptop built for professionals who need a reliable daily driver. It ships with a quad-core Intel Core i7-8650U processor, 24 GB of DDR4 memory and a 512 GB SSD so the system is responsive straight out of the box.

Durable chassis with versatile ports

The black ThinkPad frame meets MIL-STD durability expectations and weighs little enough for constant travel. Connectivity includes HDMI, two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports — one always-on for charging phones — and two USB Type-C ports that handle Power Delivery, DisplayPort output and data transfer. Wi-Fi 4 and Bluetooth 4.1 handle wireless duties.

14-inch FHD IPS touchscreen decides fit

The 1920 x 1080 IPS panel delivers wide viewing angles and ten-point touch input for presentations or annotation. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the display and external monitors without a discrete GPU. Buyers who need dedicated graphics performance or more than 512 GB of internal storage should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

What speeds do the USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports actually reach?

The two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports run at up to 5 Gb/s; one is marked Always On for charging while the laptop sleeps.

What clearance does the 14.0 inch chassis need for the side ports?

The 14.0 inch body fits standard laptop sleeves; leave a few millimetres at the left and right edges for two USB 3.1 Gen 1, two USB Type-C, HDMI and audio jack.

How do I add the 512 GB SSD and 24 GB DDR4 without losing the Windows 11 Pro licence?

The M.2 slot and soldered-plus-socket memory layout let you swap the SSD and add a DDR4 stick; Windows 11 Pro re-activates automatically via the firmware licence.
