Lenovo ThinkStation P620 Workstation

The Lenovo ThinkStation P620 is a tower workstation built for professional CAD, 3D rendering and engineering workflows. It runs on an AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3945WX processor with 256GB of installed memory. An NVIDIA Quadro RTX 4000 graphics card accelerates GPU-enabled applications. Windows 11 Pro provides a business-ready operating environment.

Suits users needing high core counts

This system suits engineers, designers and content creators who require multi-core processing power and 256GB RAM for large datasets, virtual machines or complex scenes. Buyers who need a compact form factor or a lower-power platform should consider other options. The tower chassis and 1000W supply support expansion, but the unit is not designed for mobile or space-constrained deployments.

Threadripper PRO 3945WX with 256GB RAM

The defining specification is the AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3945WX paired with 256GB of memory across eight slots. This combination determines whether the workstation can handle your simulation, rendering or multi-application workloads. Verify that your software licences and project scale align with this processor and memory configuration before purchase.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 8x 32GB memory modules in the ThinkStation P620, and what step is often missed?

Populate all eight DIMM slots with the 32GB modules; the step often missed is enabling the correct memory channel configuration in BIOS so the full 256GB runs at rated speed.

What maintenance or replacement will the 6TB 7.2K SATA HDD need later?

The 6TB 7.2K SATA HDD is a mechanical drive; plan to replace it after several years of continuous operation or if SMART diagnostics report reallocated sectors.

What limit appears first on the RTX 4000 during sustained rendering workloads?

The NVIDIA Quadro RTX 4000 will hit its thermal and power envelope first under sustained loads, causing clock throttling before memory or compute limits are reached.
