Security Alarm Cable 18/2 Stranded

This Logico security alarm cable is an 18 AWG two-conductor stranded bare copper wire rated CMR and CL3R. It comes in a 1000 ft pull box and is intended for low-voltage security system wiring.

Suits hardwired sensor runs, not data networks

Installers connecting door contacts, motion detectors or keypads to alarm panels will find this cable appropriate. It is not designed for Ethernet data transmission, PoE devices or high-voltage mains circuits.

18 AWG stranded conductors for flexible pulls

The 18 gauge stranded construction allows easier routing through walls and around corners during installation. This conductor size and stranding determine the cable's bend radius and current-carrying capacity for alarm circuits.

Questions about this item

What alarm panel terminals does the 18 AWG stranded conductor fit?

The 18 AWG stranded bare copper wires terminate on standard screw or spring terminals found on most residential and commercial alarm panels.

Can I run this CMR CL3R cable through the same riser shaft as existing Cat5e?

Yes, the CMR rating permits vertical riser installation alongside other communications cables such as Cat5e in the same shaft.

How do I verify the 1000 ft pull box feeds correctly after installation?

Measure continuity and resistance on each 18 AWG conductor at the panel; a low, balanced reading confirms the full 305 metre length is intact.
