iPad 7th & 8th Gen Keyboard Case

The Slim Folio fits iPad 7th generation (2019) models A2197, A2198, A2200 and iPad 8th generation (2020). It combines a full-size keyboard with a protective folio that wraps the front and back. A dedicated holder keeps a Logitech Crayon or Apple Pencil (1st gen) secure. The case connects via Bluetooth LE and runs on two replaceable coin cell batteries rated for four years at two hours of daily typing.

Typing And Viewing Angles

The case locks into two fixed angles: a 58-degree typing position and a 10-degree viewing position. Scissor-switch keys provide 1.5 mm travel and 17 mm pitch for a laptop-like feel. A full row of iOS shortcut keys controls brightness, volume, media playback, search, on-screen keyboard and lock without reaching for the screen. Auto sleep/wake preserves battery when the folio is closed.

Fabric Cover And Port Access

Water-repellent fabric and durable plastic protect against spills and scratches while adding minimal bulk. Precise cut-outs leave every port, camera and headphone jack accessible without removing the iPad. The integrated keyboard cannot be detached, so users who prefer a separate keyboard or need a different viewing angle will find this design limiting. Buyers with newer iPad models or those requiring adjustable viewing angles should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the 4-year battery life hold up if I type for several hours every day?

The rated life assumes two hours of typing per day; heavier daily use will shorten the span of the two replaceable coin cells.

My iPad model is A2197 — will the case fit and pair correctly?

Yes — A2197 is listed among the compatible 7th-generation models, and the keyboard connects via Bluetooth LE.

Can I keep using my Logitech Crayon while the folio is closed?

The case includes a dedicated holder for the Crayon or Apple Pencil (1st gen), so the stylus stays attached and ready.
