Front-Bay Drive Adapter

The LORDWORLD 1106SS lets you install a 3.5 inch SATA hard drive or SSD into a 5.25 inch front drive bay on a desktop PC. It is aimed at builders and upgraders who want quick, tool-free access to storage without opening the case. The tray-less design accepts any capacity drive and connects through a standard SATA interface. It works with Windows XP through Windows 10 and requires no extra drivers.

Thermals and Power

A stainless steel body acts as a heatsink to move heat away from the drive during normal operation. No fan is included, so cooling relies on case airflow passing over the metal enclosure. The front-mounted on/off button cuts power to the drive, letting you put it into a sleep state without shutting down the system. Power draw follows the drive’s own SATA specification and adds no active circuitry of its own.

Build and Connectors

The all-metal construction gives a rigid feel and aligns with the 5.25 inch bay mounting points using standard screws. A single SATA data and power cable runs from the rear of the unit to the motherboard and power supply inside the case. Hot-swap capability means you can insert or remove a drive while the PC is running, but the bay must be accessible from the front panel. Systems without a 5.25 inch bay cannot use this adapter.
