6-Bay 2.5" SATA Hot-Swap Backplane

The LORDWORLD unit fits six 2.5" SATA III 6Gbps SSDs or HDDs into one 5.25" drive bay. Tool-less trays allow hot-swappable drive changes without powering down the system. Dual 40mm fans provide active cooling with selectable HIGH, LOW or AUTO speed modes. Two 15-pin SATA power connectors supply all six bays.

Suits builders needing dense hot-swap storage

This backplane is aimed at system integrators and power users who want six 2.5" drives in a 5.25" slot with tool-less swapping and adjustable fan cooling. It does not support 3.5" drives, drives thicker than 9.5 mm, or interfaces other than SATA. Buyers needing more than six bays or a different form factor should consider other enclosures.

SATA III 6Gbps interface across six hot-swap bays

Every bay runs at SATA III 6Gbps, so drive throughput is limited by the SATA link rather than the backplane itself. The 15-pin power input feeds all six slots, and the dual 40mm fans keep temperatures in check across the supported 5 mm, 7 mm and 9.5 mm drive heights.

Questions about this item

Will the dual 40mm fans need replacement after long-term use?

The dual 40mm fans are the only moving parts and can be swapped if they wear out or become noisy over time.

What limits sustained transfers when all six bays are active?

The two 15-pin SATA power connectors supply all six drives, so the power delivery budget is the first limit under heavy simultaneous load.

How loud and hot does the enclosure get with the fans on AUTO all day?

The AUTO setting adjusts fan speed to drive temperature, keeping noise lower at idle and ramping up only when the 2.5″ drives need extra cooling.
