Holds 2242, 2260 or 2280 M-key and B+M-key NVME or SATA drives at 10 Gbps over USB 3.2 Gen 2 with UASP and Trim support
This enclosure accepts M-key and B+M-key M.2 SSDs in 2242, 2260 and 2280 lengths. It supports both NVMe PCIe and SATA protocols through the improved RTL9210B controller. The aluminium shell provides passive cooling and the package includes two thermal pads, a screwdriver and both USB Type-C and USB 3.0 Type-A cables. Drives are not included and must be formatted before first use.
The enclosure connects via a reversible USB Type-C port and delivers up to 10Gbps throughput when the host supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 or Thunderbolt 3. It falls back to USB 3.1 Gen 1 and USB 3.0 at 5Gbps for older ports. UASP and TRIM support are implemented in the controller to maintain SSD performance and longevity across compatible operating systems including Windows 7 through 10, Linux and macOS.
This adapter will not work with M.2 PCIe AHCI drives, mSATA modules, Wi-Fi cards, capture cards or any non-M.2 form-factor SSDs. Buyers who need to connect those drive types should choose a different enclosure. The single deciding specification is the M-key or B+M-key M.2 interface combined with NVMe or SATA protocol support.

The enclosure fits 2242, 2260 and 2280 M-Key or B+M Key SSDs, both NVMe PCIe and SATA. It does not support M.2 PCIe AHCI drives, mSATA or non-M.2 form factors.
With an NVMe drive and a USB-C Gen 2 or Thunderbolt 3 host port, the RTL9210B controller can saturate the 10Gbps bus, so large sequential transfers such as an HD movie complete in roughly two seconds.
The USB 3.2 Gen 2 connection caps throughput at 10Gbps; faster NVMe SSDs will be bottlenecked to this ceiling, while SATA SSDs run at their native 6Gbps limit. The port is backward compatible with USB 3.1 Gen 1 and USB 3.0 at 5Gbps.
