Connects 2.5" and 3.5" IDE and SATA drives via USB 3.0 with a 12 V power supply, accessing up to three drives simultaneously at up to 5 Gbps
This LUOM E-yield E01 adapter connects 2.5 or 3.5 inch SATA and IDE hard drives or solid-state drives to a computer through a USB 3.0 port. It suits technicians and home users who need to duplicate, copy, backup or transfer data from legacy or current drives without installing them internally. The device includes a SATA II connector plus 40pin and 44pin IDE connectors. It also supports optical drives such as DVD-ROM and CD-RW.
The adapter replaces the need for spare internal SATA or IDE ports and drive bays when accessing up to three drives at once. The jump is worth it when you must move large amounts of data between different drive types or recover files from older systems. It supports drives up to 6 TB and delivers transfer rates up to 5 Gbps while remaining backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1. Compatible systems include Windows XP through 10, Mac OS 9 and 10, and Linux.
Installation is plug-and-play with the included 12V/2A power supply and USB 3.0 cable; no driver installation is required for the listed operating systems. An LED indicator shows working status during transfers. The main issue arises if the power adapter is not connected for 3.5 inch drives, which need external power to spin up. Ensure the correct IDE connector (40pin for 3.5 inch, 44pin for 2.5 inch) is used for each drive.

Yes, the 12 V 2 A power supply must be plugged in to run any 3.5 inch drive, whether IDE or SATA.
Connect the SATA data cable to the drive and the adapter, then insert the USB 3.0 cable into the computer; the drive powers from the USB port so no external supply is needed.
Replace it if the LED indicator fails to light, drives spin down during transfers, or the adapter becomes unreliable with 3.5 inch drives.
