What this extractor does

The LUOM HY-5001 takes one HDMI source and splits the signal into a pass-through HDMI output plus separate digital optical and analogue stereo audio outputs. It is built for users who need to feed an AV receiver, soundbar or amplifier while keeping the video path intact.

Included power adapter and manual

A 5V power adapter is supplied so the unit works immediately without drawing power from the HDMI source. The bundled manual explains the three audio-mode switches — PASS, 2.0CH and 5.1CH — so installers can match the output format to the connected sound system.

Video and audio headroom

Video passes through at up to 1920 x 1080 with 36-bit deep colour and 3D support. The extractor handles LPCM 7.1, DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD bitstreams, but it does not support ARC and cannot process resolutions beyond the stated 1080 limit.

Questions about this item

Will the 5 V / 1 A power adapter need replacement if it fails after extended use?

The unit ships with a 5 V / 1 A DC power adapter; if that adapter fails you would need to source a matching 5 V / 1 A replacement.

What video resolution limit appears first when the extractor runs continuously at 4K?

The HDMI output is specified for 4K at 30 Hz, so sustained 4K playback will be capped at that refresh rate.

Does the extractor generate noticeable heat or fan noise during all-day operation?

The device has no fan and draws only 5 V / 1 A, so it runs silently with minimal heat buildup.
