USB4 cable with 40Gbps bandwidth

The LUOM PQ005 is a USB4 Gen 3x2 cable that delivers up to 40Gbps bi-directional data transfer between two USB-C devices. It supports single 8K@60Hz or dual 4K@60Hz video output and carries up to 240W of power with PD 3.1. The 90-degree connector reduces strain on ports in tight spaces.

Sustained high-speed transfers and charging

At 40Gbps the cable can move large datasets such as 14 hours of HD video or 25000 photos in roughly one minute when both ends use USB4 Gen 3x2 ports. Power delivery negotiates down through 180W, 140W, 100W, 60W and 45W steps, so a single cable handles laptops, phones and accessories without overheating during long sessions.

Check your ports and power needs

Verify that your host and peripheral both expose USB-C ports capable of USB4 Gen 3x2 or Thunderbolt 3 to reach the 40Gbps ceiling; older USB 3.2 or 3.1 ports will limit bandwidth to 20Gbps or less. Ensure your charger supports PD 3.1 at 48V/5A if you require the full 240W rating for large laptops or docks.

Questions about this item

Does the 90-degree USB4 cable get warm or draw noticeable power when it runs at 240W all day?

The cable is rated for up to 240W (48V/5A) power delivery and 40Gbps data transfer; heat and power draw depend on the connected charger and device, not on the cable itself.

What must I already own for this 5ft USB-C to USB-C cable to deliver 240W charging and 8K@60Hz video?

You need a USB-C power adapter that supports PD 3.1 up to 240W and a host device with a USB4 or Thunderbolt 3 port capable of 40Gbps and 8K output.

Will this 40Gbps USB4 cable work with my older laptop that only has USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports?

Yes, the cable is backward compatible with USB 3.2, 3.1 and 3.0 ports, but data speed will be limited to 20Gbps on Gen 2 and video output will follow the host port’s maximum capability.
