What this cable does

The LUOM T001A is a 16 ft Toslink digital optical audio cable with male-to-male connectors. It carries uncompressed PCM audio and compressed 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1 surround sound formats including Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-HD, ADAT and LPCM. The fiber core transmits light signals for short-range connections between home-theatre components, sound bars, game consoles and TVs. Gold-plated terminals resist corrosion.

Who it suits and who it does not

Buyers linking a sound bar, PS4, Xbox, DVD player or AV receiver with a standard Toslink port will find the square connector easy to align and secure. The double braided nylon jacket and flexible PVC shell protect the fiber during routing behind furniture. It is not for buyers who need longer runs beyond 16 ft, coaxial electrical S/PDIF connections, HDMI audio return channel, or multi-room distribution systems.

Behaviour during extended playback

The precision polymer lens focuses the beam to minimise internal reflection, keeping signal loss low over the full length. Gold-plated contacts maintain stable conductivity without tarnishing during continuous use. The aluminum-alloy reinforcement and 2.2 / 5.0 mm outer diameter give the cable enough rigidity to stay seated while remaining pliable for tight bends. No active electronics means no heat build-up or power-related drift during long sessions.

Questions about this item

Which ports must my sound bar and TV already have to use this 16 ft Toslink cable?

Both devices need a square Toslink (S/PDIF optical) port; the cable’s male-to-male connectors plug directly into those ports.

Will this cable carry Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD from my older DVD player to a newer AV receiver?

Yes, the fiber core supports uncompressed PCM and compressed 5.1 to 7.1 surround formats including Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD across the full 16 ft length.

How can I confirm the 24K gold-plated connectors are seated correctly after installation?

The precision square connector only fits one way; a firm click and a steady red light at each end show the link is active and lossless.
