VESA-Certified DP 1.4 Fiber Cable

The LUOM TJ-A013 is a DisplayPort 1.4 fiber-optic cable built for users who need 8K 60 Hz or 4K 144 Hz over longer runs. It carries 32.4 Gbps HBR3 bandwidth with DSC 1.2 support and is backwards compatible with DP 1.3, 1.2 and 1.1 displays. VESA certification confirms compliance with the DP 1.4 specification.

Bandwidth ceiling and link direction

Fiber construction removes the length penalty of copper, but the DP 1.4 standard still caps usable throughput at 32.4 Gbps. That ceiling limits 8K to 60 Hz and 4K to 144 Hz without compression; higher refresh rates at 4K or 5K require DSC. The cable is directional — source and display ends are marked and must be connected accordingly.

Gold contacts, alloy shells and single foil shield

24K gold-plated connectors resist oxidation and maintain low contact resistance over repeated insertions. Zinc-alloy shells with piano-paint finish add mechanical rigidity and protect the internal optical modules from cracking. A single Al-Mylar foil shield wraps the fiber cores, suppressing electromagnetic interference in dense PC or AV racks.

Questions about this item

Which length of the LUOM TJ-A013 DisplayPort 1.4 fiber cable should I choose?

The cable is supplied in a 65 ft length; choose it when the source and display are far apart, such as a PC in one room and a monitor or projector in another.

What does the 32.4 Gbps bandwidth actually deliver on my monitor?

It enables 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 144 Hz, 2K at 240 Hz and 1080p at 240 Hz, provided your graphics card and display also support those modes.

How does the DisplayPort 1.4 interface limit what I can run?

The DP 1.4 link caps at 32.4 Gbps using HBR3 and DSC 1.2, so resolutions above 8K 60 Hz or refresh rates above 240 Hz at lower resolutions are not possible over this cable.
