Extension cable for DisplayPort 1.4

This 3.3 ft male-to-female cable extends an existing DisplayPort link while keeping full 1.4 performance. It carries HBR3 bandwidth up to 32.4 Gbit/s and supports 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 144 Hz, and 1080p at 240 Hz. The cord is aimed at desktop users who need extra reach between a graphics card and a monitor without dropping resolution or refresh rate.

Triple-shielded solid-copper construction

The cable uses 26–30 AWG solid copper conductors wrapped in triple shielding and a nylon braided jacket. Gold-plated connectors are rated for over 10 000 insertions, reducing wear on the graphics-card or monitor port when the cable is swapped frequently. HDCP 2.2, HDR, DSC 1.2, FEC, MST and stereoscopic 3D pass through unchanged. Five hook-and-loop ties are included for cable management.

Check your existing cable and port gender

Verify that the cable you want to extend ends in a male DisplayPort plug, because this extender provides a female socket. Confirm the source device and display both run DisplayPort 1.4 or earlier — the extender is backward compatible to 1.0 but cannot add features the host does not support. Ensure the total combined length after extension still meets your routing needs.

Questions about this item

Will the gold-plated connectors or braided jacket need replacement after repeated plugging?

The cable is rated for 10000+ plug cycles with 24K gold-plated connectors and a nylon braided jacket, so neither the connectors nor the jacket should need replacement under normal use.

At the maximum 32.4 Gbit/s bandwidth, what limits sustained 8K@60Hz transmission over the 3.3 ft length?

The 3.3 ft DisplayPort 1.4 cable uses 26-30 AWG solid copper conductors and triple-layer shielding to maintain the full 32.4 Gbit/s HBR3 bandwidth, so the length itself is not the limiting factor for 8K@60Hz.

Does the cable generate noticeable heat or require extra power when running 4K@144Hz all day?

As a passive copper cable with solid copper conductors and triple shielding, it draws no external power and produces no measurable heat during continuous 4K@144Hz operation.
