1-in-8 HDMI splitter for multi-display setups

The LUOM YME-098 takes a single HDMI source and duplicates the signal across eight HDMI displays simultaneously. It supports video formats up to 3840 x 2160 at 25 or 30Hz, alongside 1080p, 720p, 480p and 576p resolutions. Audio passthrough covers DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby TrueHD, LPCM 7.1, DTS, Dolby AC3 and DSD. The unit is suited for digital signage, conference rooms, classrooms or any installation needing one source shown on many screens.

Placement and cabling considerations

The splitter requires an external power supply (not detailed in the data) and sits between the source device and up to eight displays. With AWG26 standard HDMI cables the total run from input to outputs can reach 130 ft, letting you locate screens farther from the source. It also regenerates the HDMI signal, which helps maintain integrity over longer cable lengths. No software or driver installation is needed on the host device.

Passive thermal design and power profile

The aluminium enclosure dissipates heat without a fan, so operation is silent in normal use. Power draw is low because the device only buffers and re-clocks the 10.2 Gbps HDMI 1.4 stream; no heavy processing or scaling occurs. The 5-inch pigtail cable keeps the main body close to the source or distribution point, reducing strain on the HDMI ports.

Questions about this item

Does the 10.2 Gbps bandwidth limit the 4K output to 30 Hz?

Yes, the splitter supports 3840 x 2160 at 25 or 30 Hz over its 10.2 Gbps link, so 4K 60 Hz is not possible.

Will the unit get hot or noisy when driving eight displays continuously?

The device has no fan and draws little power, so it runs silently and stays cool during all‑day operation.

What cables and power source do I need before it will work?

You need one HDMI source cable, up to eight HDMI display cables, and a USB power adapter for the included micro‑USB port.
