Home Audio Connections

Suitable for linking a CD player, turntable preamp or other line-level source to an amplifier or receiver. Not intended for digital audio, video, speaker-level signals or multi-channel setups that require additional conductors.

Questions about this item

Will the 28 AWG conductors or molded plugs need replacement with regular use?

The 28 AWG copper conductors and molded RCA plugs with strain relief boots are built for normal home audio connections; they do not require scheduled replacement and only need changing if physical damage occurs.

What limit appears first when the 1.8288 m cable runs audio continuously?

With passive 28 AWG conductors the practical limit is signal attenuation over very long runs, but at 1.8288 m stereo audio levels stay clean and no electrical limit is reached during continuous playback.

Does the Monoprice 100659 generate heat or noise when used all day?

The cable is completely passive with no active electronics, so it produces zero heat and zero audible noise even when carrying stereo audio signals around the clock.
