Second drive kit for 2011-2012 Mac mini

This kit lets you add a second internal 2.5" SATA drive to the lower bay of a compatible Mac mini. It includes the mounting bracket, flex cable, screws, grommets and a five-piece tool set plus a logic-board removal tool. The drive itself is sold separately. Installation follows the downloadable Data Doubler guide.

Check model and drive height first

Verify your Mac mini is a Late 2012 Macmini6,1 or 6,2 (2.3, 2.5 or 2.6 GHz) or a Mid 2011 Macmini5,1 or 5,2 (2.3, 2.5 or 2.7 GHz). Only 9.5 mm tall 2.5" SATA HDDs or SSDs will fit the bracket. No other form factor or interface is supported by this kit.

Bracket, cable and tools included

The steel bracket uses four hex screws and rubber grommets to secure the drive and dampen vibration. A dedicated flex cable routes the SATA signal to the logic board without loose wiring. The supplied mini toolkit and removal tool are sized for the Mac mini's internal fasteners, so no extra tools are needed.
