Built for field work

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-20 is a fully rugged 2-in-1 device that detaches into a 10.1-inch tablet. It carries MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-461F and IP65 certifications for drops, vibration, dust and water resistance. A magnesium alloy chassis with a built-in handle and kickstand supports mobile workflows. The unit ships new with Windows 10 Pro, a digitizer pen and a power adapter.

Steps up from standard laptops

This model replaces consumer-grade notebooks that cannot survive job-site abuse or operate with gloved hands. The jump is worth it when work demands a detachable screen, FirstNet Band 14 connectivity via the EM7511 modem and a spill-resistant keyboard. It is not for buyers who need higher processing throughput or discrete graphics for rendering workloads.

Simple deployment

The device arrives configured with 16GB memory and a 2TB SSD at the maximum supported capacity, so no internal upgrades are required. The detachable hinge is designed for single-handed operation. FirstNet provisioning varies by carrier and may need IT coordination. The included digitizer pen stores in the chassis to prevent loss in the field.

Questions about this item

What mounting options does the built-in handle provide?

The handle works as a kickstand so the tablet can stand upright on a flat surface without extra hardware.

How do you detach the tablet from the keyboard base, and what step is often missed?

Release the latch with one hand and lift the tablet away; the step people miss is confirming the latch clicks fully before pulling.

What battery maintenance will the detachable tablet need over time?

The internal battery is user-replaceable; swap it when run-time drops below what the job requires.
