Built for Field Work

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-54 is a 14.0-inch rugged laptop certified to MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-461F and IP65 standards. It ships new with Windows 10 Pro, a Core i5-5300U processor at 2.3 GHz, 8 GB of memory and a 2 TB SSD. The multi-touch display resolves at 1920 x 1080 and includes a digitizer pen.

Suited to Mobile Professionals

This unit fits workers who need integrated 4G LTE Multi FirstNet, GPS, a smartcard reader and a fingerprint reader in a sealed chassis. The DVD-ROM drive and Gigabit LAN add legacy connectivity. Buyers who need a writable optical drive or more than 16 GB of memory will not find those features here.

The Deciding Spec

The display is a 14.0-inch multi-touch panel at 1920 x 1080 with digitizer pen support, allowing direct input in wet or gloved conditions. If the workflow does not require touch and pen on a ruggedised screen, a standard business notebook will cost less.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the 14.0-inch 1920 x 1080 multi-touch display and Intel HD Graphics 5500 are functioning correctly after setup?

Boot into Windows 10 Pro, open Settings > System > Display to confirm the 1920 x 1080 resolution and test touch response across the screen; then check Device Manager > Display adapters for Intel HD Graphics 5500 without error codes.

What ships in the box and what must I source separately for the CF-54?

The package includes the laptop, battery, AC adapter, power cord, digitizer pen, and Windows 10 Pro licence; paper manuals are not included but electronic versions are available online.

Which configuration should I choose between the 1366 x 768 non-touch and the 1920 x 1080 multi-touch screen?

Select the 1920 x 1080 multi-touch model if you need full HD clarity and pen or finger input; choose the 1366 x 768 non-touch version only when touch capability is unnecessary.
