Purpose-built rugged laptop

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-31 MK4 is a fully rugged 13.1-inch laptop certified to MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-461F and IP65 standards. It runs Windows 10 Pro on a 2.70GHz Intel Core i5 single-core processor with 8GB of DDR3 800 memory configured as 4 GB x 2. The sunlight-viewable XGA touch LED display offers 1024 x 768 resolution and supports digitiser pen input for precise operation in challenging environments.

Included accessories expand usability

A digitiser pen and power adapter are supplied in the box, enabling immediate pen-based workflow and deployment without sourcing separate peripherals. The integrated 10/100/1000Mbps LAN and 802.11a/b/g/n wireless LAN provide standard wired and wireless connectivity options. The 160GB hard drive delivers local storage for the operating system and field data without relying on solid-state media.

Suits field professionals needing certified

This unit fits users who require MIL-STD and IP65 certification, a sunlight-readable touchscreen and pen input for outdoor or industrial work. Buyers who want more storage capacity, a multi-core processor for heavier multitasking, solid-state storage speeds, or a higher-resolution display should look at something else.

Questions about this item

Will the 160 GB mechanical drive need replacing sooner than an SSD would?

The 160 GB HDD has moving parts and will wear faster than solid-state storage; plan a swap if reliability matters.

What thermal limit appears first when the 2.7 GHz Core i5 runs flat-out?

The single-core 2.7 GHz processor hits its thermal ceiling quickly under sustained load, throttling clocks to stay within the chassis limits.

How loud does the fan get and how much power does the 13.1 inch XGA panel draw during an all-day shift?

The rugged chassis runs a single fan that spins up audibly under load; the LED-backlit 1024 x 768 display and 2.7 GHz CPU together draw moderate power from the adapter.
