Built for field work

This Panasonic Toughbook CF-54 is a 14.0-inch semi-rugged laptop certified to MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-461F and IP65. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core i5-5300U processor at 2.3 GHz with 8 GB of memory and a 1 TB SSD. Integrated 4G LTE Multi FirstNet, GPS, a smartcard reader and a fingerprint reader support mobile security workflows. A digitiser pen and power adapter are included.

Suits mobile professionals needing rugged

The combination of FirstNet-ready LTE, dedicated GPS and CAC smartcard support fits public-safety, utility and defence personnel who work outdoors. The sealed chassis survives drops, vibration, rain and dust. Buyers who need a touchscreen, a higher-resolution panel or more than 16 GB of memory should look at other configurations. The single-core processor and 802.11a/b/g/n wireless limit heavy multitasking and modern network throughput.

Deciding spec: 4G LTE Multi FirstNet certification

The embedded 4G LTE Multi FirstNet modem is the feature that distinguishes this unit from standard CF-54 models. It provides priority access on the FirstNet band for emergency responders. If your organisation does not require FirstNet compatibility, a non-FirstNet variant with identical ruggedness and compute performance will serve the same purpose.
