Ready for field work

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-54 is a 14.0 inch semi-rugged laptop built for mobile professionals who need a device that survives dust, water jets and vibration. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core i5-5300U processor at 2.3 GHz with 16 GB of memory and a 1 TB SSD. The multi-touch display supports pen input for signatures and annotations in outdoor conditions.

Thermals and power in daily use

The low-power Core i5-5300U and integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 keep heat output modest during typical office and field tasks. Fan noise stays low when the system handles documentation, mapping or communications workloads. The efficient platform helps extend battery runtime on shift-long deployments without needing frequent recharges.

Built to move and connect

MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-461F and IP65 certifications confirm resistance to shock, electromagnetic interference and pressurised water. Integrated 4G LTE with FirstNet support, GPS, a smartcard reader and a fingerprint sensor provide secure connectivity and authentication on site. Four USB ports, Gigabit LAN and Bluetooth 4.1 cover peripherals and wired networks, while the included digitiser pen stores in the chassis for immediate use.

Questions about this item

How do I install the digitizer pen and what step do people miss?

Pair the digitizer pen via Bluetooth 4.1 and enable it in Windows 10 Pro pen settings; the step most people miss is installing the Wacom driver from the electronic manual before first use.

What maintenance will the 1TB SSD and 16GB RAM need later?

The 1TB SSD requires no mechanical maintenance; the 16GB RAM is soldered to the max supported limit so it cannot be upgraded, only monitored for health via Windows tools.

What limit appears first during sustained use on the Core i5-5300U?

The single-core 2.3GHz Core i5-5300U with Intel HD Graphics 5500 hits thermal throttling before the 10/100/1000Mbps LAN or 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN saturate.
