Add CD Playback to Acura RDX

This Pro Star USB CD player restores disc playback to 2019-2026 Acura RDX models that lack a factory unit. It connects through the vehicle USB port and integrates with Apple CarPlay so the factory radio and steering wheel controls manage track selection and volume. No additional wiring or tools are required for installation.

Plug-and-Play USB Powered Design

The unit draws power directly from the car USB port and can be mounted vertically or horizontally on the centre console, in the glove box, or anywhere the cable reaches. A printed instruction manual guides the setup and the supplier advises allowing two minutes for each disc to finish indexing before use to avoid set-up issues.

Replaces Missing Factory CD Player

This device is aimed at owners who still use physical CDs and whose vehicle no longer includes a built-in drive. It is not for buyers who want more storage, digital-only playback, or a second head unit. The upgrade is worth it when the factory infotainment supports CarPlay and a simple USB connection is preferred over a full dashboard replacement.

Questions about this item

Does the USB interface power the CD player and carry CarPlay audio at the same time?

Yes, the single USB cable supplies power and carries the CarPlay signal so the factory radio can play CDs through the vehicle speakers.

What mounting options does the unit have for an Acura RDX centre console or glove box?

The player can be mounted vertically or horizontally anywhere the USB cable reaches, including the centre console or glove box.

Why must I wait two minutes after inserting the first CD before using the player?

The two-minute wait lets the CD finish indexing; interrupting it forces you to restart the whole setup with a different disc.
