What It Is

The Pro Star USB CD player adds a single-disc drive to 2019-2026 Honda HR-V models that left the factory without one. It connects through the vehicle’s existing USB port and integrates with CarPlay so the factory radio or steering-wheel buttons control playback. No extra wiring or tools are required for installation.

Sustained Operation

After inserting a disc the unit indexes the contents for about two minutes before it is ready to play. Interrupting that process means starting the set-up again from the beginning with a different disc. Once indexed, the player draws power from the USB port and runs continuously without an external power supply.

Mounting & Connectivity

The compact chassis can be secured vertically or horizontally on the centre console, inside the glove box, or anywhere the supplied cable reaches the USB port. Because it uses the factory USB connection there are no additional connectors to route, keeping the cabin tidy and preserving the original interior layout.

Questions about this item

Does the USB-powered CD player generate noticeable heat or noise during long drives?

The unit draws power from the car’s USB port and has no internal fan, so it runs silently and stays cool during extended use.

Must my HR-V already have a factory USB port and wired CarPlay for this player to function?

Yes, the CD player plugs directly into the vehicle’s USB port and requires the factory radio to support wired CarPlay for audio and control integration.

Will steering-wheel audio controls on a 2019 HR-V still operate the CD player after installation?

The device is designed to let the factory radio and steering-wheel buttons control playback once it is connected via USB and CarPlay is active.
