Pro Star CarPlay USB CD Player

This Pro Star CarPlay USB CD Player adds an external CD player to the 2019-2026 Ferrari 488 Spider. It is aimed at owners whose factory system lacks a built-in disc drive but who still want to listen to their existing CD collection through the vehicle audio system.

USB CarPlay compatibility

The single specification that decides fitment is USB CarPlay compatibility with the 2019-2026 Ferrari 488 Spider. The unit draws power and data from the car USB port and requires the factory infotainment to support CarPlay so that disc control appears on the original screen and steering wheel buttons.

Plug-and-play with indexing wait

Installation is plug-and-play: connect the cable to the USB port, mount the player vertically or horizontally on the console or in the glove box, and follow the printed instructions. The critical step is allowing two minutes for the disc to finish indexing; interrupting this process forces a full restart with a different disc.

Questions about this item

How does the USB CD player work once it is plugged into the 488 Spider's USB port?

The device draws power from the USB port and indexes the inserted disc for about two minutes before it becomes controllable through the factory radio or steering wheel buttons.

What USB standard does the player use and what does that limit?

It connects to the vehicle's existing USB port for both power and CarPlay data, so performance is limited to what that port supplies.

Where can the unit be mounted in the 488 Spider?

The player can be secured vertically or horizontally on the centre console, inside the glove box, or anywhere the supplied cable reaches the USB port.
