1080p dome camera with motorised varifocal lens

The Samsung SNV-7082 is a network dome camera delivering 1080p resolution from a 3.1 megapixel CMOS sensor. Its motorised 3 to 8.5 mm lens provides 2.8x optical zoom for adjustable viewing angles. The camera connects via 10/100BASE-T Ethernet and supports H.264 and MJPEG compression. It operates on 208 to 230 V AC power.

Installers needing remote zoom adjustment.

This camera suits installers who need remote focal-length changes without opening the housing. The motorised varifocal lens allows fine-tuning the field of view from 87.3° down to 31.2° horizontally. Buyers requiring Power over Ethernet, wireless connectivity, or onboard storage slots should look elsewhere. The fixed 10/100 network port and AC-only power input limit integration options.

3.1 megapixel sensor at 20 or 30 frames per second

The imaging device captures 2,064 by 1,578 total pixels, streaming at 20 fps in 3M mode or 30 fps in 2M mode. This frame-rate choice is the key specification that determines whether the camera meets a project's motion-capture requirements. Lower frame rates may miss fast movement, while higher settings reduce resolution.

Questions about this item

Does this camera need a PoE injector or a separate power supply to run?

It requires a 208–230 V AC source, so you must provide an AC power supply or PoE injector that delivers that voltage range.

Will the RJ-45 port negotiate 10/100 speeds with my older NVR or switch?

Yes, the Ethernet interface is 10/100BASE-T and will auto-negotiate with legacy 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps equipment.

How can I confirm the 2.8× motorized varifocal lens is moving through its full 3–8.5 mm range after installation?

Log into the web interface and watch the live view while adjusting zoom; the horizontal field of view should shift from 87.3° at wide to 31.2° at tele.
