Purpose and audience

This six-foot Toslink cable carries digital audio between any two devices that have SPDIF optical ports. It suits home-theatre owners, gamers and anyone who wants a simple, noise-free link for surround sound.

Build fit and connections

The male-to-male optical fibre plugs directly into soundbars, TVs, consoles, Blu-ray players or AV receivers without adapters. The flexible nylon jacket resists kinking during routing, while gold-plated tips resist corrosion for a lasting seat in each port.

Bundled extras and software

Removable plastic pin protectors ship on both ends to keep the polished fibre faces clean until first use. No drivers or configuration utilities are included; the cable is passive and works immediately once the protectors are removed.

Questions about this item

How far can I run this cable before the 125 Mbps signal degrades?

The cable is 6 ft long and rated for 125 Mbps; longer runs up to 50 ft are available in the same series if you need extra reach.

Does the nylon jacket and shielding keep the cable cool and quiet during all-day playback?

The optical fiber carries light, not electricity, so it generates no heat and makes no noise regardless of how long it runs.

Which devices must already have Toslink ports for this male-to-male cable to work?

Any two components with Toslink sockets — soundbars, TVs, gaming consoles, AV receivers, Blu-ray players or similar — will connect directly.
