What you get

This Silicon Power Armor A60 portable hard drive delivers 4TB of storage in a 2.5 inch form factor. It connects through a USB 3.0 interface that is backward compatible with USB 2.0 ports. The drive is suited for users who need large-capacity external storage with a ruggedised enclosure.

Installation and common issues

The drive uses a standard USB 3.0 cable included in the retail packaging and requires no external power adapter. It supports Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista, XP and 2000, Mac OS 10.5 or later and Linux kernel 2.6.31 or later. Some older operating systems may need a driver update before the full 4TB capacity is recognised.

The spec that decides fit

The enclosure meets U.S. military drop-test standard MIL-STD 810G Method 516.7 Procedure IV with 26 drops from 122cm on each face. It also carries an IPX4 water-resistance rating. Buyers who need a drive without ruggedisation or who require a different interface protocol should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

The drive should appear in your OS file manager and the LED indicator will light up during data transfer. Use the included SP Widget software to run a quick health check and verify the 4TB capacity is recognised.

What accessories are included in the retail packaging and what must be purchased separately?

The box contains the 4TB Armor A60 drive, a USB 3.0 cable and a user manual. No separate power adapter is required as the drive is bus-powered; no other items need to be bought for basic operation.

Which capacity version of the Armor A60 should I choose for storing large media libraries?

The 4TB model provides up to 4TB of storage space and is suited for large media libraries. If you need more or less capacity, other capacities exist in the Armor A60 series but are not covered by this specific model number.
