What the product is and who it is for

Smead 12634 file folders are pink letter-size folders sold in a box of 100. They suit offices, schools and home users who need colour-coded filing for standard documents. The 1/3-cut reinforced tabs allow clear labelling in three positions across the drawer. Durable 11 point stock resists everyday handling.

Practical limits of the folder format

Letter-size folders fit only letter-format paperwork; legal or A4 sheets will not sit correctly. The 1/3-cut tab layout provides three staggered positions, so a full drawer shows every label without overlap. Reinforced two-ply tabs withstand frequent pulling but add slight bulk compared with single-ply alternatives. Pink colour aids quick visual sorting but limits use where neutral tones are required.

Specification that decides fit

The folders are made from 11 point stock, a mid-weight board that balances stiffness with folder capacity. If your filing system demands heavier board for long-term archival storage, this weight may be insufficient. Conversely, lighter stock would tear under daily use. Match the 11 point rating to your handling frequency and retention period to confirm suitability.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 100-count box or a smaller pack for my filing system?

The 100-count box supplies enough folders for large filing projects or ongoing office use, reducing the frequency of reordering.

What does the 11-point stock rating mean for everyday document handling?

The 11-point stock provides a sturdy weight that resists tearing when folders are frequently pulled from cabinets or carried between desks.

How does the 1/3-cut tab design work with standard letter-size hanging rails?

The 1/3-cut tabs stagger across three positions so labels remain visible when folders sit side by side on letter-size rails.
