Legal-Size Orange File Folders

Smead 17534 folders are legal-size top-tab folders made from 11 pt stock in orange. They are sold in boxes of 100 and feature reinforced tabs for extra durability and longer life. The wood is sourced from a certified managed forest. These folders suit offices that organise legal documents by colour.

For high-volume legal filing with colour coding

They suit teams that need many legal-size folders with reinforced tabs for frequent handling and want orange for quick visual categorisation. Buyers who need letter-size folders, a different colour, or a smaller pack quantity should look at something else. These folders are not designed for binders or hanging-file systems.

Check document size and storage method

Confirm that your paperwork is legal size so it fits the folder dimensions. Verify that your filing cabinet or drawer uses top-tab folders rather than side-tab or hanging rails. Ensure the 11 pt stock meets your durability expectations for the intended handling frequency.

Questions about this item

What filing cabinet or drawer do I need to store these legal-size folders?

They fit any standard legal-size filing cabinet or drawer with top-tab rails, so the cabinet you already use for legal documents will accept them.

Can I mix these 11 pt. orange folders with lighter-weight manila folders in the same drawer without the tabs catching?

Yes, the reinforced 1/3-cut top tabs are designed to align with standard tab positions, so they slide alongside lighter folders without snagging.

How can I confirm the folders are the correct 11 pt. stock and legal size once the box is open?

Each folder is stamped with the model number 17534 and the orange 11 pt. stock is visibly thicker than standard letter-weight folders, matching the legal-length dimensions.
