Smead 21538 file folder, 25/box, letter, red, 23-pt pressboard

Product identity

The Smead 21538 is a letter-size file folder made from 23-pt pressboard in a bright red finish. It is sold in boxes of 25 and intended for offices that organise large volumes of paper records. The one-inch expansion gusset suits users who need capacity beyond flat folders. It is not for buyers who want more storage than a single box provides or who require legal-size dimensions.

Sustained use

Reinforced accordion-pleat gussets allow each folder to expand and hold one to two inches of paperwork without splitting. The heavyweight pressboard resists wear and tear during frequent handling and long-term shelf storage. The material maintains rigidity when folders are packed tightly in drawers or cabinets. It is not for environments that demand waterproof or fire-rated protection.

Material sourcing

Wood fibre for the pressboard comes from a certified managed forest, meeting a recognised responsible-sourcing standard. The 23-pt stock provides a consistent folding surface for labels and fasteners. No special disposal process is required beyond normal paper recycling streams. It is not for buyers who need folders made from plastic or other non-paper substrates.
