Letter-size expansion wallets for paper filing

These Smead 71453 wallets hold letter-size documents and expand to 3.5 inches with Tyvek-lined gussets. Double-thick front and back panels add rigidity. An elastic cord secures the protective flap. The box contains 10 units.

Check document size and expansion need

Verify that your files are letter format and that 3.5 inches of expansion matches the volume you plan to store. Confirm the elastic-cord closure suits your workflow. Ensure the Tyvek-reinforced gusset meets any tear-resistance requirement you have.

Fits in standard letter filing systems

The wallets sit in letter-size drawers, shelves or cabinets without special hardware. Their full-height gussets free up space by consolidating bulky files into single pockets. Double-thick panels keep contents upright when the drawer is opened or moved.

Questions about this item

What comes inside the 10-count box of Smead 71453 expansion wallets and do I need to buy elastic cords separately?

The box contains ten letter-size wallets with 3.5-inch expansion; each wallet already has its own elastic-cord closure attached, so no extra cords are required.

Should I choose the leather-like Redrope version or a different material for heavy daily filing?

The Redrope finish gives a distinctive classic look with double-thick panels and fully-lined tear-resistant gussets, making it well suited for frequent handling of letter-size files.

How much paperwork can the 3.5-inch gusset actually hold once the wallet is on my shelf?

The 3.5-inch expansion provides ample depth for thick letter-size projects, and the Tyvek-lined gussets resist tearing even when the wallet is filled to capacity.
