Expansion capacity

The Smead 73795 expansion file pocket provides 7 inches of overall expansion for letter-size documents. It is sold in a box of five redrope pockets. The extra-wide design accommodates standard top-tab file folders so a complete client file can be kept together.

Filing-system fit

The straight-tab format aligns with conventional vertical filing equipment. Pockets accept letter-size sheets and standard folders without modification. Expansion is limited to the stated 7 inches, so extremely thick files may require multiple pockets.

Construction and daily use

Front and back panels are super heavyweight with a hidden reinforcement strip at the primary stress point. The gusset is fully lined with tear-resistant material, features rollover reinforcement at the top, and extends twice as far into the panels as standard pockets. Wood fibre comes from a certified managed forest.

How does the 7-inch expansion hold up when the pocket is full and pulled by the gusset?

The gusset is fully lined with tear-resistant material, has rollover reinforcement at the top, and extends into both panels twice as far as standard pockets, so it will not rip out.

What does the straight tab design mean for labeling and shelf visibility?
