Letter-size file jackets for mobile filing

These Smead 75470 jackets hold letter-size documents in a single expandable pocket. The 11-point manila stock resists everyday handling while the closed gussets keep pages from falling out during transport. They suit professionals who carry active files between meetings or off-site locations.

Thermal and noise performance

Not applicable; this is a passive paper product with no power draw, fans or operating temperature range. It adds no acoustic load to any environment and requires no electrical supply.

How the included features change use

The straight-cut single-ply tab sits 1/2 inch high for clear labelling in drawers or shelves. Rounded top corners on the back panel reduce snagging when pulling the jacket from a stack, while the thumb-cut front gives quick fingertip access to contents. The full-height side gusset expands up to two inches, allowing one jacket to replace several thinner folders for bulky projects.

Questions about this item

How do I load the 2" expansion gusset without overfilling it?

Insert documents into the jacket so the full-height side gussets close flat; stop when the front thumb-cut still opens cleanly and the single-ply tabs align with adjacent folders.

What part of the 11 point manila jacket wears out first with daily handling?

The straight-cut single-ply tabs fray at the edges and the thumb-cut corners tear before the body material shows fatigue.

At what fill level does the 2" expansion stop sealing the sides securely?

When contents push the gusset walls past vertical the rounded back corners gap, letting sheets slip out during transport.
