Letter-size file jackets with expansion

Smead 75520 file jackets hold letter-size documents in a 50-count box. Each jacket uses 11 point manila stock and expands one inch to accommodate thicker files. Reinforced double-ply tabs with thumb cuts provide durable indexing and quick access. Closed sides keep contents secure during transport.

Upgrade from single-ply tab folders

These jackets replace standard folders that tear at the tab or lack expansion capacity. The double-ply reinforcement withstands frequent handling in active filing systems. The one-inch gusset suits projects that grow beyond flat folder limits. Buyers who need legal-size capacity or multiple divided sections should look elsewhere.

Capacity for growing project files

Each jacket comfortably manages expanding letter-size document sets up to the one-inch expansion limit. The full-height gusset prevents papers from slipping out the sides. The 50-count box supplies a department or home office for extended use. Users requiring higher bulk storage or fire-rated protection will need a different solution.

Questions about this item

What size cabinet or drawer fits these letter-size 11 point manila jackets with 1 inch expansion?

The jackets are letter size and expand one inch, so they fit standard letter-width drawers or shelves with at least that much depth.

How do the reinforced double-ply straight-cut tabs with thumb-cut align in a filing system?

The back tab sits half an inch higher than the front, creating a staggered index; insert each jacket so the thumb-cut faces forward for quick pull-out.

When do the full-height gussets or 11 point manila stock typically need replacing?

Replace a jacket when the gusset tears, the expansion no longer holds shape, or the manila stock becomes too worn to protect contents.
