SMUGDESK M.2 2242 to 2280 NVMe Adapter for Lenovo Legion Go

SKU CH-1WJ0-TG5MW

Converts the Lenovo Legion Go's 2242 slot to accept 2280 NVMe SSDs up to 8TB with full PCIe 4.0 speed

  • Designed for Lenovo Legion Go 2242 slot conversion to 2280 NVMe
  • Supports 4TB and 8TB single-sided M Key NVMe drives
  • Passive PCB keeps full PCIe 4.0 bandwidth with no loss
  • Gold-plated contacts give stable signal and long-term reliability
  • Non-destructive DIY install expands handheld storage safely

Dedicated Lenovo Legion Go Upgrade

This adapter converts the internal 2242 M.2 slot of the Lenovo Legion Go handheld console to accept standard 2280 NVMe solid-state drives. It is built for owners who want to expand game storage beyond the limits of the original form factor.

Passive PCIe 4.0 Signal Integrity

The board uses a passive circuit design that introduces no signal attenuation, preserving full PCIe 4.0 bandwidth for the installed NVMe drive. Gold-plated elastic pins maintain stable contact through vibration and temperature shifts inside the handheld chassis.

Single-Sided 4TB and 8TB Compatibility

Only single-sided M Key NVMe 2280 drives up to 4TB and 8TB are supported to ensure safe fitment within the compact casing. The non-destructive installation requires disassembly but leaves the mainboard unmodified.

Questions about this item

How do I install the adapter in the Legion Go without damaging the motherboard?

Remove the original 2242 drive, plug the adapter into the M.2 slot, secure the single-sided 2280 NVMe drive onto the board, then reassemble the handheld; the passive PCB requires no soldering or firmware changes.

What ongoing maintenance does the adapter need after installation?

None; the gold-plated elastic pins resist vibration and temperature shifts inside the console, so no periodic cleaning, reseating or firmware updates are required.

Will sustained heavy game loads throttle the SSD because of the adapter?

No; the passive design maintains full PCIe 4.0 bandwidth with zero signal attenuation, so the drive keeps its original NVMe speeds during extended sessions.
