SMUGDESK

SMUGDESK Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort 8K Cable 6.6ft

SKU CH-7T3C-WWQYB

A 6.6 ft bi-directional Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable supporting 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 144 Hz with 32.4 Gbps bandwidth

  • 8K resolution at 60 Hz for ultra-sharp visuals
  • 4K at 144 Hz for smooth high-refresh gaming
  • Bi-directional design works from Mini DP source or DP source
  • 4 Gbps bandwidth handles uncompressed 8K video
  • Gold-plated connectors with aluminium shells resist corrosion

Bi-directional 8K connectivity

This Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable carries video both ways, linking a Mini DP laptop to a standard DisplayPort monitor or a DisplayPort computer to a Mini DP display. It supports Thunderbolt 1 and Thunderbolt 2 ports on MacBook models. The 6.6ft length suits typical desk-to-screen runs.

Passive copper construction

Gold-plated connectors and high-quality copper wires deliver up to 32.4 Gbps bandwidth without active electronics, so there is no external power requirement and no fan noise. The matt PVC and cotton-braided jacket resists water and abrasion, while the aluminium shell protects the ends from bending stress.

DisplayPort 1.4 feature set

The cable handles 8K resolution at 60Hz and 4K at 144Hz, enabling high-refresh gaming or detailed creative work on compatible hardware. Bi-directional operation works only when the Mini DP port on the display side supports video output. No software or driver installation is needed for the link itself.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable and which end goes where?

Connect the Mini DisplayPort plug to the source device such as a laptop or desktop and the full-size DisplayPort plug to the monitor; the cable is bi-directional so either orientation works provided the Mini DisplayPort port supports video output.

What maintenance or replacement will this cable need over time?

The gold-plated connectors and aluminium shells resist corrosion, while the cotton-braided PVC jacket protects the copper conductors; no routine maintenance is required unless physical damage occurs.

What is the first limit I will hit when running an 8K display at 60 Hz for long sessions?

The cable's maximum bandwidth of 32.4 Gbps defines the ceiling for sustained 8K 60 Hz transmission; signal integrity at that rate depends on keeping the 6.6 ft length undamaged and firmly seated.
