SKU CH-Q39Y-2P1R2

A USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 cable delivering 8K at 60 Hz or 4K at 144 Hz with HBR3, HDR and DSC 1.2 over a one-metre link

  • 8K 60 Hz resolution with 32.4 Gbps bandwidth
  • 4K 144 Hz gaming performance via HBR3 and DSC 1.2
  • Thunderbolt 3 and 4 host compatibility
  • USB-C DP Alt Mode video output to DisplayPort displays
  • Supports 8K, 5K, 4K and 2K resolution tiers

What this cable does

This USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 cable carries video from a USB-C or Thunderbolt 3/4 port to a DisplayPort monitor. It supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and HBR3 bandwidth up to 32.4 Gbps. The cable is not bi-directional, so it cannot drive a USB-C display from a DisplayPort source.

Resolution and refresh options

With DSC 1.2 compression the link delivers 7680x4320 at 60 Hz, 5120x2880 at 60 Hz, 3840x2160 at 144 Hz, and 2560x1440 at up to 240 Hz. HDR and 10-bit colour are supported at the higher resolutions. Actual output depends on the host and display capabilities.

Who should buy and who should not

Suits users with a Thunderbolt 3/4 or USB-C DP Alt Mode laptop who need a single-cable connection to a high-refresh gaming or professional DisplayPort monitor. Not for buyers whose source only offers a DisplayPort output, or whose USB-C port lacks video Alt Mode support.

Questions about this item

Will the Thunderbolt 4 connector need replacing after frequent plug cycles?

The cable uses a fixed USB-C plug rated for typical daily use; no user-serviceable connector parts exist.

What resolution limit appears first when running 8K 60Hz continuously?

Bandwidth caps at 32.4 Gbps, so 8K 60Hz is the maximum sustained resolution the link can carry.

Does the cable get warm during all-day 4K 144Hz gaming sessions?

Passive copper construction stays near ambient temperature; no active cooling or power draw is required.
