Adds two DB9 RS232 COM ports through one PCIe slot using the AX99100 chip for stable data transfer with POS terminals, PLCs and serial equipment

  • Adds two DB9 COM ports via one PCIe slot
  • AX99100 chip ensures stable serial data transfer
  • High baud rates with built-in buffer resist interference
  • Fits standard bracket and PCIe x1/x4/x8/x16 slots
  • Windows and Linux drivers enable quick setup

Two RS232 ports via PCIe

The SMUGDESK AX99100 card adds two independent DB9 COM ports through a single PCI Express slot. It targets technicians who connect POS terminals, PLC controllers or serial test equipment to modern motherboards that lack native serial headers.

Check slot and bracket clearance

Verify that your chassis accepts a standard-height bracket and that a free PCIe x1, x4, x8 or x16 slot is available. The card requires driver installation on the target Windows or Linux system before the ports become active.

Low power draw and silent operation

With no active cooling the card runs passively and adds negligible load to the system power budget. Normal use produces no audible noise and keeps operating temperatures within the limits of the AX99100 chip design.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and what do I need to buy separately?

The card itself and a standard bracket are included; cables for the DB9 ports are not supplied.

Which version should I choose for a regular desktop chassis?

The single version listed fits standard PCIe x1/x4/x8/x16 slots and includes the regular bracket.

What does the 16-byte buffer per port do for my PLC link?

Each AX99100 port has a 16-byte FIFO that absorbs burst traffic and reduces overrun errors on long cables.
