PCIe 5.0 x16 to Dual MCIO 8i Adapter

This PCIe 5.0 expansion card converts a single x16 slot into two SFF-TA-1016 MCIO 8i female ports. Each 74-pin connector carries an x8 link at full Gen5 32GT/s bandwidth. It is built for server and workstation storage arrays or external GPU expansion projects.

Suits builders adding NVMe arrays or eGPU links

Ideal for administrators who need to split a Gen5 x16 lane into two high-speed MCIO channels. Not suited for systems lacking a physical x16 slot or for users who require direct drive mounting without cabling.

Gen5 32GT/s bandwidth per x8 channel

The card delivers full PCIe 5.0 32GT/s throughput on each of the two x8 links while remaining backward compatible with PCIe 4.0 and 3.0 devices. This specification determines whether the adapter can saturate the target NVMe or GPU workload.

Questions about this item

What motherboard slot is required for the PCIe 5.0 x16 interface?

A free PCIe 5.0 x16 slot on the motherboard is required to run the adapter at full 32GT/s speed.

Will the card work in a PCIe 3.0 x16 slot if I keep my current motherboard?

Yes, the adapter is backward compatible with PCIe 3.0 and 4.0 slots, operating at the slot's maximum supported speed.

How can I verify each MCIO 8i port is running at x8 Gen5 after installation?

Check the OS device tree or BIOS PCIe link status; each of the two ports should report x8 width at 32GT/s when NVMe drives are attached.
