PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 NVMe adapter for SSDs

This SMUGDESK expansion card adds an M.2 NVMe B+M Key slot to any desktop, workstation or server using a standard PCIe x4, x8 or x16 slot. It runs at PCIe 5.0 speeds and accepts 2230, 2240, 2260 and 2280 length drives.

Builders adding fast NVMe storage to a spare PCIe

The card suits anyone who wants to install a B+M Key NVMe SSD in a system with an available PCIe lane. It will not accept drives that use a B Key only pinout or modules longer than 2280 mm.

PCIe 5.0 x4 bandwidth for NVMe SSDs up to 2280

The single deciding specification is the PCIe 5.0 x4 link, which delivers 16 GT/s per lane to the installed SSD. If your platform or drive operates at an older PCIe generation the card still works but cannot exceed that device's native throughput.

Questions about this item

Does the Set7 adapter include an NVMe SSD or do I need to buy the drive separately?

The adapter is sold without an NVMe SSD, so you must supply your own 2230, 2240, 2260 or 2280 NVMe drive.

Which M.2 length should I pick from the supported 2230, 2240, 2260 and 2280 sizes?

Choose the length that matches your NVMe SSD; the card has mounting points for all four sizes from 2230 up to 2280.

What real-world bandwidth can I expect from the PCIe 5.0 x4 link once the NVMe drive is installed?

The PCIe 5.0 x4 interface provides up to 16 GT/s raw bandwidth for the connected NVMe SSD.
