Adds two 10Gbps USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports (Type-A and Type-C) via PCIe, with overcurrent protection and optional SATA power for stable high-speed transfers
The SMUGDESK PCIe adapter adds one USB Type-A and one USB Type-C port to a desktop computer, each running at 10Gbps SuperSpeed+ bandwidth. It fits PCIe x4, x8 or x16 slots across PCIe 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0 generations and includes both full-height and low-profile brackets for standard or slim cases. The board draws optional auxiliary power from a 15-pin SATA connector to keep voltage stable under heavy load. Overcurrent protection is built into each port for safe operation.
Builders who want to connect NVMe SSDs, high-speed external drives or modern USB-C peripherals will benefit from the 10Gbps throughput and broad OS support covering Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 and Linux kernels. The card is backward compatible with USB 3.0, 2.0 and 1.1 devices, so legacy gear still works. Systems without a free PCIe slot or without a SATA power connector for the optional auxiliary feed cannot use all features. Buyers who need more than two additional ports should look at a different solution.
The single specification that decides fit is the combined 10Gbps SuperSpeed+ rate delivered on each of the two ports via USB 3.1 Gen 2 signalling. This bandwidth level determines whether the adapter can saturate fast NVMe drives or high-throughput peripherals. If the target workload requires only USB 3.0 speeds, a lower-spec card would suffice, but the 10Gbps rating is the decisive figure for high-performance external storage.

No published specifications for this item yet.
Check the connection speed in Device Manager or lsusb -t; each port should report 10Gbps SuperSpeed+ when a compatible device is attached.
Full-height and low-profile brackets are included; the optional 15-pin SATA power cable is not included and must be sourced separately if needed.
Both ports provide 10Gbps bandwidth; use the Type-C port for reversible connection or the Type-A port if your enclosure cable matches it.
