SMUGDESK PH49 PCIe 4.0 X4 to U.2 SFF-8643 Adapter with Half-Height Baffle

SKU CH-FVH4-RAD66

Converts a PCIe 4.0 slot to a U.2 NVMe port with a half-height bracket for low-profile servers

  • PCIe 4.0 x4 bandwidth for fast NVMe SSD speeds
  • Backward compatible with x4, x8 and x16 slots for flexible installation
  • Converts PCIe slot to U.2 SFF-8643 port for enterprise drive support
  • Half-height baffle included to fit standard and low-profile chassis
  • Plug-and-play design enables quick server storage expansion

PCIe 4.0 X4 to U.2 Adapter

The SMUGDESK PH49 adds a single SFF-8643 U.2 port to an available PCIe 4.0 x4 slot. It accepts NVMe solid-state drives and is backward compatible with x4, x8 and x16 slots. A half-height baffle is included for installation in standard or low-profile chassis.

Server storage upgrades, not consumer M.2 builds

This card suits administrators expanding enterprise storage with U.2 NVMe drives in rackmount or tower servers. Builders who need an M.2 slot for consumer drives, or who require multiple U.2 ports from one card, should look at a different adapter.

PCIe 4.0 x4 host interface

The adapter connects through a PCIe 4.0 x4 link, which sets the maximum throughput available to the attached NVMe drive. Verify that the host platform provides a compatible x4, x8 or x16 slot before purchase.

Questions about this item

What does the PCIe 4.0 x4 link mean for real-world NVMe SSD speed on this PH49 adapter?

The four-lane PCIe 4.0 connection lets a compatible NVMe drive run at its full rated throughput, limited only by the drive itself and the host slot.

Which physical interface does the SFF-8643 port use and what does it cap in practice?

The SFF-8643 connector carries four PCIe 4.0 lanes, so the practical ceiling is the drive's own PCIe 4.0 x4 maximum.

What does the half-height baffle change about fitting the card into a chassis?

The included half-height bracket allows the PH49 to mount in low-profile or standard-height cases without modification.
